Itinerary

Flight to Lima. Welcome and transfer to your hotel, accommodation for 2 nights, dinner on your own.

Panoramic tour of the historic center*: the Plaza de Armas, the Government Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, the Cathedral and Convent of San Francisco, the Town Hall and the Club de la Union. Stop off at a bar that has preserved its "Cordano" period furniture. Visit to the Archaeology Museum. Lunch of regional specialities. Afternoon and dinner at leisure.

Transfer to the airport and flight to Arequipa* in southern Peru. Located at the foot of the Misti volcano at an altitude of 2,335 m, the city is nicknamed the White City for its resemblance to Seville. Lunch of traditional specialties in a picanteria, followed by a stroll through the Yanahuara district. Visit the colonial convent of Santa Catalina, a 20,000 m² religious citadel kept away from the world until 1970. It is home to narrow streets, austere dwellings and chapels adorned with beautiful paintings. Check-in at your hotel for the night. Dinner on your own.

Departure for Puno via Yura, famous for its thermal waters. Crossing the desert steppe. Continuation via the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve, home to numerous species of Andean animals including vicuñas. After Juliaca, arrival in Puno, cradle of the Inca civilization, at 3,810 m altitude on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Lunch and check-in at the hotel for 2 nights. Dinner on your own.

Domestic flights subject to change. Journeys from Arequipa to Puno and Puno to Cusco with guide, in private bus for groups of 12 or more. For fewer than 12 people, by regular bus service with accompanying adult.
Bring a little extra luggage for the night in Agua Calientes.

For the June 09 departure, the Central Bank Museum is closed on Mondays and will be replaced by the Larco Museum.

If you have traveled to Cuba since January 12, 2021, or to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Yemen or Sudan since March 01, 2011, a visa to travel to the United States is required (currently between 3 and 6 months), as the Esta (electronic visa) cannot be issued.
